The select nature of our portfolio reflects our exacting standards. We seek out producers with integrity, making thoroughbred wines of individuality and distinction. We must promote and sell professionally and expertly, especially since Hungarian wines are not well-known outside of Hungary. This means that our knowledgeable sales personnel must take a customized approach to selling our wines. The human dimension to all this is paramount. We only sell wines from people we respect. We work hard to build a relationship of trust and support with our suppliers as well as our clients. This is achieved by personal contact, honesty and flexibility. We carry fewer wineries than many distributors or exporters as to offer a focused approach for the wines that we sell. This allows us to provide our customers more information and a personalized sales process.

We invest in independent winemakers by selling their most cherished wines abroad, in exchange for preferential prices, which we then pass on to you. We set up Hungarian Wine Shop because we could see one thing about the Hungarian wine trade that needed to change. Most people have a pre-conception that Hungarian wine’s are of a compromised quality which is then over priced when the opposite can be said to be the truth. In most wine regions around the world wine is offered in mass production in attempt to increase turnover, these vineyards are very competitive in prices but compromise on quality. We have spent the essential time sourcing out the best independent vineyard’s across Hungary and negotiating prices so we can then offer wines of high quality and at affordable prices in an attempt to alter the bruised reputation Hungarian wines has become accustomed to.
